SoundTransformer is a collection of ten digital-audio transformations that work in the frequency domain and operate as a plug-in effects within any MacOS Premiere-compatible audio application, including Adobe Premiere, Macromedia DECK II, Opcode Vision/StudioVision/Studio Vision Pro, MOTU Digital Performer, Bias Peak, Emagic Logic Audio and Cakewalk Metro 4.
SoundTransformer is an analysis/synthesis system. The analysis is a short-term Fourier transform ; it describes the input as a sum of sinusoids whose parameters are frequency, amplitude and phase. A signal is analysed in successive overlapping windows. The window size, which determines temporal and frequential resolution, can be adjusted according to the properties of the sound. After analysis, the modifications are applied. The modifications of the sound consists in modifying these parameters, before re-synthesis. From an input signal, SoundTransformer generates various transformations chosen and controlled by the user. These transformations can modify the pitch, spectrum and amplitude of the sound.
Who Should Use Sound Transformer?
SoundTransformer allows audio enthusiasts and computer musicians, sound effects designers and multimedia artists, webmasters and anyone else who enjoys working with sound to analyze and modify digital audio on Mac computers without special purpose hardware.
Currently included plug-ins:
*ST Spectral FIlter
*ST Spectral Shift
*ST Spectral PitchShift
*ST Spectral Randomizer
*ST Spectral NoiseKiller
*ST Spectral NL Stretch
*ST Spectral Mirror
*ST Spectral Magnet
*ST Spectral Sieve
*ST Spectral Wobble
2. Installation and System Requirements
Sound Transformer requires:
*A PowerPC Mac OS computer with System 7.5.5 or later. Fast processor strongly recommended.
*An Adobe Premiere - compatible audio application ( I've tested with Premiere 4.2, BIAS Peak 2, DECK II 2.5, Cakewalk Metro 4.0, LogicAudio 4.0)
Installation of SoundTransformer is fairly simple. Just drag-n-drop the SoundTransformer’s plug-ins to the appropriate Plug-Ins folder of your Adobe Premiere - compatible audio application... and that’s all, folks!

• The Global Optimization turned off, in order to increase stability of the plug-ins.
• Plugin dialog is moveable now.
Version 1.0c1 ( October 9, 1999)
• A bug that would cause Sound Transformer to crash Emagic Logic Audio host application in certain situations has been fixed.
• A cosmetic problem with small arrows controls has been fixed.
• Tested with Cakewalk Metro 4. Several memory leaks were located and fixed.
• Improved error handling.
• A problem that could cause Sound Transformer to crash while calling a MixedModeManager callback has been fixed.
• Tested with TurboMorph 1.8. A problem that could cause Sound Transformer to crash has been fixed.
Known Problems:
• Some of the MOTU Digital Performer users report about error = -108. I am working to resolve this problem.

How we do business:
Kagi does business via email . We receive postal mail, email, faxes and phone calls, and process registration payments. Kagi processes software product payments for several hundred authors and their programs. We need you to use the Register program that came with Sound Transformer since most of the payment processing is automated to keep costs low and frees us help you when you need it.
How we can respond you:
After processing we will send all registered users an email that will give you more information about Kagi and the program. Email and fax registrations will be sent an acknowledgement that we received your registration request. Because of the low percentage that Kagi charges for payment processing we will not respond with a phone call, unless you have an "800" number or receive collect calls, and we do not send faxes. The only mail that we send is postcard receipts that have been paid for. Kagi is NOT a software publisher and does not ship any product or return anything sent on disks. Kagi does not provide technical support for any of the other programs they handle.
For technical support:
Contact the author of the Sound Transformer <alexy@kagi.com>. The email address of the author should also be on the copy of the registration form that you send us, so save a copy for yourself.
How to get help from us if you need it:
If you do not get a response from your registration request in a reasonable amount of time, email in four days, faxes in six days, postal mail in a few weeks, please send the message below to us with the information entered. This way we can help you as quickly as possible:
*We need this data:

Register-to: Registrants name
Time/Invoice: if original had that number
Email: email address
Addr: If used
Card-name: card holder's name
Credit-card#: first 10 digits

For more information, read the enclosed "How to Register" document.
5. Payment
Paying for Sound Transformer is fairly simple. Open the Register program that accompanies Sound Transformer. Enter your name, your email address, and the number of single user licenses you desire for each program you wish to purchase (or Site or Word-Wide licenses). Save or Copy or Print the data from the Register program and send the data and payment to Kagi.
If paying with Credit Card or First Virtual, you can email or fax the data to Kagi. Their email address is <sales@kagi.com> and their fax number is +1 510 652-6589. You can either Copy the data from Register and paste it into the body of an email message or you can Save the data to a file and you can attach that file to an email message. There is no need to compress the data file, it's already pretty small. If you have a fax modem, just Print the data to the Kagi fax number.
Payments sent via email and through the online registration site are processed within 3 to 4 days. You will receive an email acknowledgement when it is processed. Payments sent via fax take up to 10 days and if you provide a correct internet email address you will receive an email acknowledgement.
If you are paying with Cash or USD Check you should print the data using the Register application and send it to the address shown on the form, which is:
Kagi
1442-A Walnut Street PMB#392-9YL
Berkeley, California 94709-1405
USA
You can pay with a wide variety of cash from different countries but at present if you pay via check, it must be a check drawn in US Dollars. Kagi cannot accept checks in other currencies, the conversion rate for non-USD checks is around USD 15 per check and that is just not practical.
If you have a purchasing department, you can enter all the data into the Register program and then select Invoice as your payment method. Print three copies of the form and send it to your accounts payable people. You might want to highlight the line that mentions that they must include a copy of the form with their payment.
Kagi cannot invoice your company, you need to act on my behalf and generate the invoice and handle all the paperwork at your end.
Please do not fax or email payment forms that indicate Cash, Check or Invoice as the payment method. As far as we know, there is still no technology to transfer physical objects via fax or email and without the payment, the form cannot be processed.
Payments send via postal mail take time to reach Kagi and then up to 10 days for processing. Again, if you include a correct email address, you will hear from Kagi when the form is processed.
